Abeokuta, visits Alake of Egbaland

In continuation of his official visit to Ogun State, President Bola Tinubu has arrived at Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, Nigeria Standard learnt.

Nigeria Standard had earlier reported that the President shortly on arrival in Ogun State, paid homage to the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, where he described his visit as a response to a ‘home-calling’.

In Abeokuta, the President visited the Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo at his Ake palace, where he met with the monarch and prominent indigenes of the State, including former Governors Olusegun Osoba and Ibikunle Amosun, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole and Ogun Central senator, Shuaib Salisu among others.

Tinubu who holds the traditional chieftaincy title of Aare Ago of Egbaland noted that the purpose of the visit was to thank the Monarch and the people of Ogun state for their support for his candidature and administration.

He assured that his administration will run an open door policy, and called on all hands to be on deck to move Nigeria to greater heights.

Tinubu specifically thank the Alake of Egbaland whom he described as a man of vision, honesty and integrity.

Oba Gbadebo had earlier thanked the President for the visit and prayed for the success of his administration.
