Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for renewed commitment to preserving the country’s rich cultural heritage, urging citizens, traditional institutions and relevant stakeholders to safeguard Nigeria’s diverse traditions, languages and historical values for future generations.
The First Lady made the appeal while speaking at a cultural event, where she stressed that Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage remains a vital pillar of national identity, unity and sustainable development. She said preserving the nation’s customs, cultural artefacts, historical sites and indigenous values is essential to ensuring that future generations appreciate the country’s unique history and diversity.
Mrs. Tinubu noted that Nigeria’s cultural heritage reflects the resilience, creativity and identity of its people, adding that every ethnic group contributes significantly to the country’s rich historical and cultural landscape.
