2027 Oyo Governorship Race: Adegoke Unveils Agenda, Pledges Full Local Government Autonomy
Governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Adebayo Adegoke, has pledged to strengthen grassroots governance through full local government autonomy if elected governor in 2027.
Adegoke outlined his vision for Oyo State while engaging party members and stakeholders, emphasizing that empowering local governments would enhance development, improve service delivery, and bring governance closer to the people.
According to the ADC governorship hopeful, local government councils should be allowed to function independently, manage their resources effectively, and implement projects that directly address the needs of their communities. He argued that true autonomy would accelerate development in rural areas and strengthen democratic governance at the grassroots level.
