Ogbomoso Professionals Forum Challenges Adeseun to Address Allegations, Clear His Name
The Ogbomoso Professionals Forum has called on former lawmaker, Ayoade Adeseun, to publicly respond to a series of concerns surrounding his political record and contributions to the development of Ogbomosoland.
In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Ademola Gbadegeshin, the forum said it had become necessary for the former senator to address lingering questions in the interest of transparency, unity and the future of the community.
According to the statement, “it is time for our father, brother and leader to speak directly to the people and clear the air on issues that continue to generate debate across Ogbomoso.”
Questions on Political Role and Legacy
The forum specifically referenced the political events of 2011 involving the late former governor, Adebayo Alao-Akala, asking Adeseun to clarify his role during that period and its implications for Ogbomoso’s political cohesion.
“Given the importance of unity in advancing our collective interest, it is important to understand the motivations and outcomes of past political decisions,” the statement noted.
Concerns Over Development Projects
The group also raised questions regarding infrastructure projects attributed to the former senator, including facilities in Ikoyi, Ajaawa, Igbon and Ibapon.
It urged him to provide clarity on the status, execution and sustainability of such projects, noting that accountability remains a key expectation of public service.
Call for Respect for Traditional Institution
The forum emphasised the need to preserve the sanctity of the traditional institution, calling for continued respect and support for the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye.
It noted that the town’s progress depends on harmony between political actors and traditional leadership.
Appeal for Open Engagement
Gbadegeshin said the call was not intended as an attack but as an opportunity for clarification and constructive engagement.
“Our goal is not to deepen division but to promote accountability, truth and unity. We believe that an open response from Senator Adeseun will help put these matters in proper perspective,” the statement added.
Awaiting Response
As of the time of filing this report, Ayoade Adeseun has yet to respond publicly to the forum’s statement.
The group expressed hope that he would engage the issues raised and contribute to ongoing efforts to strengthen unity and development in Ogbomosoland.
