Atiku Denies VP Ticket Deal, Dismisses Fayose’s Allegations as False

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has strongly refuted allegations that he engaged in any political bargaining or financial arrangement over a potential vice-presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The reaction follows claims made by former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, who alleged that Atiku held discussions with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde regarding a possible running mate position as part of a broader political deal.
Responding through his media aide, Atiku described the allegations as false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to distort the facts. The statement firmly denied that any negotiations took place concerning a vice-presidential nomination, financial commitments, zoning agreements, delegate assurances, or any secret meetings within or outside the country.
According to the statement, Atiku does not conduct politics through bribery, secrecy, or transactional desperation. It emphasized that his political engagements are guided by principles, transparency, and a national outlook rather than personal bargains.
The former vice president’s camp urged the public to disregard the claims, insisting that there was no agreement or arrangement of any kind with Governor Makinde or any other political figure regarding a 2027 vice-presidential ticket.
