The
re are strong indications that the march 18th Gubernatorial Elections in Ogun state might not be free and fair as expected as there are allegations revealing that the incumbent governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, his Party, All Progressives Congress, APC with the aid some senior INEC officials have perfected plans to circumvent the process in favour of the rulling Party.
A senior INEC official who preferred to be anonymous and who was part of the meeting where the modalities for the hatchet job was discussed disclosed to this few hours to the elections.
The source who said he could not go ahead with the plan for the fear of God alleged that the State governor with the APC have perfected plans to use INEC staff to rig the upcoming exercise.
It was also alleged that there is also a calculated plan to tampered with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) Machine with the help of some technical staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, that BVAS would attack and destroy disenfranchised citizens who are so eager to cast their votes, especially in strongholds of the oppositions across thirteen (13) Local Government Areas and 470 polling units across the State we hereby called on voters to be vigilant, ensure that the BVAS Machines are configured to zero before the commencement of the poll as enshrined in the INEC guidelines.
As a concerned citizens with absolute faith and confidence in the electoral umpire, I am appealing to the hierarchy of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to look into the allegations and warn their field officers not to compromise the process or do anything that could bring the good name of the commission to disrepute.
Also on behalf of the good people of Ogun State, I passionately called on security Agencies, The Nigerian Police, The Nigerian Army, Department of State Security Services, DSS and other security agents to be on red alert to be abreast of any act capable of subverting the will of the people or truncate the Democratic set up in the country.
I also want to charge our people to take absolute charge of the process by protecting their votes, they should follow their votes up to the collation centre and as resist acts capable of subverting their will.
All electoral materials should be properly screened and ensure that officials are not compromised.
