DIG in charge of Abba Kyari s investigations slumps, dies in office


Deputy Inspector General of Police in-charge of the Force Criminal Investigations Department, Joseph Egbunike, is dead.
Nigeria Standard gathered that DIG Egbunike was feeling uncomfortable during the weekend and on Tuesday went to see the Doctor for a medical check-up after which he was given drugs and told to go.
Minutes later the senior officer who was said to have driven to office in company of family and was his usual bubbling self slumped and died.
Egbunike who hails from Onitsha, Anambra State, reportedly slumped and died in his office in Abuja in the late hours of Tuesday.
Until his death, Egbunike headed the Special Investigation Panel constituted by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, to investigate the suspended head of the Police Intelligence Response Team, Abba Kyari, over money laundering allegations.
