The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has decorated newly promoted Deputy Inspectors-General of Police and urged them to uphold discipline, integrity, and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Speaking during the decoration ceremony held at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, the police chief described the elevation to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General as both a recognition of outstanding service and a call to greater responsibility within the force.
According to him, attaining the rank of DIG represents one of the highest levels of professional trust in the Nigeria Police Force and demands wisdom, courage, and an unwavering commitment to justice and national service.
The Inspector-General charged the newly promoted senior officers to strengthen internal discipline, promote intelligence-driven policing, and enhance collaboration with other security agencies in addressing emerging threats such as organised crime, cybercrime, and violent criminal activities.
