Yayi Welfare Scheme Empowers People With Cash, Deep Freezer In Abeokuta

Not fewer than 20 people were empowered on Wednesday in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun state as Yayi Welfare Scheme puts smiles on the faces of the downtrodden with cash and a deep freezer in its continued effort and commitment to humanitarian service.

The empowerment, which was targeted at the general public and members of the Yayi Assembly, was held on Wednesday at Ilugun/Iberekodo Yayi Assembly, the second of its kind in Ogun Central.

The empowerment was based on a raffle draw to avoid favouritism while also ensuring transparency among the beneficiaries of over 200 people.

Speaking to newsmen after the event, the convener of Yayi Welfare Scheme, Hon. Yomade Biobaku disclosed that the empowerment was meant to give back to society, particularly for those who are in the Ogun Central Senatorial District.

He revealed that the programme would be a continuous event, which targeted at members of the Yayi Assembly in Ogun Central.

Biobaku highlighted the importance of empowering people, describing it as a major focus and priority of the Yayi Welfare Scheme.

Recalled the ward 5 is the strong hold of APC governorship aspirant in the state, Chief Sarafa Tunji Ishola.

Yomade further stressed that, the empowerment programme has been done in three of the 16 wards in Abeokuta North Local Government.

According to him, “the programme is empowering people in Ogun Central, and it is my initiative to support Yayi’s vision, to ensure that everyone is carried along.

“More of this are still coming, we are not stopping at Ward 5 alone, we are also going to touch many places with our empowerment, over 20 people have benefited from our cash empowerment and one person won the deep freezer raffle draw.”

Also speaking, the Chairman of the scheme, Mr. Akeem Shobayo encouraged people to inform others of the ongoing empowerment through the Yayi Welfare Scheme.

He noted that it was time for the people of Ogun Central to understand what Yayi stands for, particularly in making Ogun great.

Appreciating the Yayi Welfare Scheme committee, Mrs. Sherifat Adeoye, who won a deep freezer, commended the initiative, stating that it brought joy to her during the Ember period.

She assured to stay committed to Yayi’s mission and join the moving train of success to its destination.

The empowerment Scheme was supported by other committee members, which include; Alh. Akeem Sobayo, Alhaji Saba, Hon. Afeez shokunle (niyass), Hon. Zakariay Bakare ( CEO Break Water Group), Hon. Moruff Akinsola, Hon. Olori Adeola and Chief Mrs. Ramota Olope.
