Tolulope Adesanmi Eyes Global Spotlight for Nigeria’s Tourism

Tolulope Adesanmi, founder of DubaiAfrika, says Nigeria’s tourism industry is a “goldmine” waiting to be tapped. With over 15 years in luxury travel, the Osun-born entrepreneur is urging government and investors to unlock the sector’s potential with eco-resorts, curated experiences, and world-class infrastructure.

Adesanmi’s journey began in 2012 after visa troubles in Dubai exposed gaps in Nigeria’s travel industry. He launched DubaiAfrika, which grew into a global luxury brand and pioneered celebrity vacations with stars like Falz, Mercy Aigbe, Annie Macaulay, Jackie Appiah, Lateef Adedimeji, Odion Ighalo, Davido, and Kennis Music boss Kenny Ogungbe.
DubaiAfrika has also boosted local tourism, drawing South Africans to Lagos for “Detty December” since 2024, generating big revenue for hotels, food, and entertainment.
Despite forex hurdles and mistrust of travel agencies, Adesanmi insists trust sets him apart. “Ninety-five percent of our clients book without ever visiting our office,” he said.

Now, his focus is turning inward. “I’m eager to partner with Osun State to unlock its cultural and tourism wealth,” he noted, adding that tourism could become a key driver of Nigeria’s economy.
“I believe in Nigeria, and I believe Nigeria can be great,” he declared.
