Tola Banjo lauds Judiciary for upholding Ladi Adebutu’s victory, says it is victory for Democracy

A Former Deputy Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tola Banjo has Described the judgement delivered by Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja affirming Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu as the authentic gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Ogun State in the 2023 general elections as victory for Democracy and the entire people of Ogun who have yearning for good governance.
In a message personally signed by the ex-lawmaker, Hon. Tola Banjo noted that the judgement of the High Court of Justice once again shows that Nigerians can have absolute confidence in the Nation’s Judicial system.
He however noted that Ogun PDP family is a one big happy family, calling on party members to eschew politics of Bitterness and fall inline to ensure that the people of Ogun state are being rescued from the scourge of APC bad governance.
A factional gubernatorial candidate on the platform of the opposition party, Jimi Lawal was challenging the emergence of Hon Adebutu as PDP governorship Candidate in Ogun State in the last party primaries.
Justice Taiwo held his ruling citing many Legal authorities that “who is a delegate to vote in a primary election is exclusively within the domain of a political party and the court lacks the Jurisdiction to entertain the suit as it will mean delving into who is the proper delegates to vote at the primary”.
He therefore dismissed the suit.
