ADC Urges Tinubu to Prioritise Kaiama, Borno Victims, Demands Stronger Security Response
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intensify efforts to address Nigeria’s worsening security challenges, insisting that victims of violent attacks in Kaiama, Kwara State, and Borno State deserve the same level of national attention and urgent intervention as victims of other crises across the country.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Directorate, the ADC expressed concern over the recurring incidents of terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and communal violence affecting several parts of the country. The opposition party stressed that protecting lives and property remains the constitutional responsibility of the Federal Government and urged the administration to adopt more decisive measures to restore public confidence in the nation’s security architecture.
The party noted that communities affected by attacks in Kaiama and Borno have continued to suffer significant human and economic losses, calling for enhanced deployment of security personnel, improved intelligence gathering and better support for victims. According to the ADC, every Nigerian life is equally valuable, regardless of location, and government responses to insecurity should reflect fairness, urgency and national unity.
The ADC further urged the Federal Government to strengthen collaboration among security agencies, state authorities and local communities to improve intelligence sharing and prevent future attacks. It also advocated sustained investment in modern security technology, improved welfare for security personnel and long-term strategies aimed at addressing the root causes of insecurity.
The party maintained that a comprehensive and coordinated security strategy is essential to safeguarding lives, rebuilding public trust and creating an environment conducive to economic growth and national development. It called on the Tinubu administration to continue reviewing its security policies to ensure more effective protection for citizens across all regions of the country.
