My life in danger, Governor Dapo Abiodun’s henchmen always on my trail – Ogun APC Youth Leader cries out
As a result of the ongoing political tussle over who controls the All Progressives Congress, APC party Structure between the incumbent Ogun state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and his estranged Friend and predecessor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun in Ogun State which birth to separate factions from the recently conducted state Congress, some loyalists of the former governor have sent save our souls messages to members of the the public particularly security agencies over what they termed as incessant threats and attacks on their families, orchestrated by members loyal to the incumbent governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The recent being that of a youth group coordinator in the All Progressives Congress in the state, Salako Razzak Damilola whose family have been receiving threats over his political allegiance to former governor Ibikunle Amosun.
In a recently released statement by the APC youth Leader, he narrated how he and his family narrowly escaped assassination from supposedly thugs from Governor Dapo Abiodun’s camp recently which informed his decision to relocate abroad after he tried all possible best to attract the attention of security operatives to secure his life and that of his family members.
According to the statement released Mr Salako Razzak, the threats to his life has at the risen level eversince both factions conducted parallel state congresses on 16th of October, 2021.
” In a bid to wipe members of the faction loyal to Senator Ibikunle Amosun, attacks were been launched on some of us fronting for the SIA group, particularly for standing by what we believed in.
I want to believe that politics is a game of interest, no one should be allowed to trampled upon others political ideologies, interests as well as affiliations as long as it doesn’t affects , I do not why our case,. most importantly myself becomes in anyway different.
Precisely on the 20th of October, 2021, I escaped an attacked of gunshots on my way home from work, death treats from anonymous caller’s were been received by myself and wife as well.
While these were on, I was awaiting my admission visa processing from the ABERYSTWYTH UNIVERSITY, which gave a UK Visa opportunity along with my wife and kid.
To ensure the safety of my family, I put forward series of complaints to the Nigeria Police, explaining the threat situation I was experiencing with my family.
As the threat persists and continuous laying of siege’s by these political thugs, a source close to the Police quarters and also a Senior Political colleague and party leader called me to make it known to me that the police could do less on the matter because those involved were the state and party dictators, also which they have the backing of the state governor and Vice President’s as well, making it difficult for them to apprehend.
He advised me to make use of the visa opportunity I have with my family to abscond to the United Kingdom for safety, since the threat makers have a state and national backing.
Furthermore, he told me to consider my innocent child and wife, that I should protect myself , that it is only when am alive that I can participate in politics.
He gave his advise and also promised to foot the ticketing bills, which he did to ensure my safety and that of my family as well.
I want to use seize this opportunity to tell Nigerians how overly ambitious our politicians can be,”he said.
He appealed to relevant authorities to rise up to him and protect his life as well as that of his family from impending dangers from the governor’s henchmen.
