ADP Chieftain Says Tinubu’s Economic Policies Are Hurting Nigerians
A chieftain of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) has criticised the economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alleging that the administration’s reforms have increased the cost of living and deepened economic hardship for millions of Nigerians.
The opposition figure argued that recent economic measures have placed significant pressure on households and businesses, leading to rising inflation, higher transportation costs and reduced purchasing power. He urged the Federal Government to review its policies and introduce interventions that would provide immediate relief to struggling citizens.
According to the ADP chieftain, while economic reforms may be necessary for long-term growth, they should be accompanied by robust social protection programmes capable of cushioning their impact on vulnerable Nigerians. He maintained that many families and small businesses are finding it increasingly difficult to cope with prevailing economic conditions.
The politician also called on the Federal Government to prioritise job creation, support local production, stabilise prices and implement policies that would stimulate economic growth while improving the welfare of ordinary Nigerians. He stressed that addressing inflation and strengthening the value of the naira should remain key priorities of the administration.
He further urged the government to engage stakeholders across the public and private sectors in developing practical solutions to the country’s economic challenges, expressing optimism that collaborative policymaking would produce more sustainable outcomes.
The comments come amid ongoing national debate over the impact of the Federal Government’s economic reforms, with supporters arguing that the measures are necessary to restore long-term fiscal stability, while critics insist that stronger relief measures are needed to ease the burden on citizens.
