Swearing-in of Ministers-designate ongoing in Abuja
The swearing-in ceremony of 45-member Federal Executive Council (FEC) that will support President Bola Tinubu to actualise the Renewed Hope Agenda he promised Nigerians during his electioneering campaigns, has commenced.
The ceremony which is being held at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Abuja, is coming 84 days after the President took oath of office on May 29, 2023.
At the colorful ceremony, attended by President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and other top government functionaries, the Ministers-designate took turns to take oath of office.
Nigeria Standard had reported late Sunday night that President Tinubu redeployed some Ministers-Designate ahead of the inauguration.
According to a statement by the Presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, Engr. Abubakar Momoh was redeployed from the Federal Ministry of Youth to the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Development.
Immediate past Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola was redeployed as the Honourable Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, while Bunmi Tunji-Ojo was redeployed as the Honourable Minister of Interior.
Sa’idu Alkali was redeployed as the Honourable Minister of Transportation, just as the statement stated that the Federal Ministry of Youth will be re-assigned to a Minister-Designate soon.
