Shomide Lays Foundation For 5O Open Stalls For Grass Root People In Ogun
The Transition Committee Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government has laid foundation for fifty open stalls for the grass root people in Abeokuta south local government
Shomide affirmed that he will construct 50 open stalls at Asero motor park for the traders in the area so as to avoid displaying their commodities or goods by the roadsides
He said that his intention is centred on the objective of discouraging the street trading market purposely to give way to vehicular movements and the passers-by at Adatan via Asero and to ensure the safety of lives of the merchandise.
The transition chairman further noted that the foundation of laying of open stalls are part of the dividends of democracy, that people at the grassroots should benefit from; most especially in Abeokuta South Local Government.
He urged the intending beneficiaries that when completed they should judiciously make use of the open stalls.
The Council boss however, stressed that when it is time for the completion of the open stalls, it would not be affiliated to a political influence, that the rent of the the open shops in the community shall be given accordingly.
He therefore noted that the project is identified through the community which base on requests, affirming that the project is not political, it is for the usage of good people in Abeokuta South Local Government areas.
The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Dr. Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo Okukenu iv who was ably represented by Aare Baaroyin of Egbaland, Chief Lai Labode expressed delight of the Kabiesi for the landmark of the project that such development is taking place in Egbaland also used the medium to congratulate His Excellent in advance, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, for his birthday and first Anniversary of his governance in Ogun State.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Morufu Afuape appreciated the laudable project, posited that it is part of dividends of democracy in which electorates are expecting from the government and people in the position of leaderships.
He promised that the open shops shall be completed and commissioned in the next two weeks.
Also the vice chairman of the local government, Hon. Samod Olanrewaju, secretary to the local government, Alhaji Nurudeen Ayorinde and members of the transition committee and Alhaji Farouk Akintunde, chairman Road Transport Employer Association Asero branch, Alhaji Daodu Olomowewe, chairman National Union of Road Transport Workers Asero branch, Alhaji AbdulRasak Akiode and others were present at the event.
