Tensions have escalated in Ondo State as protesters shut down the office of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in Alagbaka, Akure, following the killing of five farmers by suspected armed herdsmen
The unrest erupted after the latest attack on Wednesday morning at Aba Oyinbo, Akure North Local Government Area, adding to the wave of violence that has rocked the region. Earlier this month, herdsmen reportedly launched a reprisal attack on four communities in Akure North, leaving several people dead.

In a bold move, protesters also blocked the Akure-Owo highway at Ogbese, leaving many motorists stranded. The demonstrators are demanding immediate action from the state government to curb the rising insecurity and prevent further bloodshed.
The situation remains tense as authorities attempt to restore order.
