Oyo APC Governorship Candidate Donates Car to Rescued Oriire School Principal
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State has donated a brand-new vehicle to the principal of the Oriire school recently rescued from captivity following the abduction of pupils and staff.
The donation was presented as a gesture of appreciation for the principal’s courage, resilience and commitment to duty throughout the traumatic ordeal. The APC candidate said the gift was meant to support the school administrator and acknowledge the sacrifices made during the period of captivity.
Speaking during the presentation, the governorship candidate praised the resilience of the rescued victims and commended the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for their successful rescue operation, which brought the abductees home safely after several weeks in captivity.
He also expressed sympathy to the pupils, teachers and families affected by the incident, stressing the need for sustained efforts to improve security around schools and protect children from criminal attacks.
The candidate called on governments at all levels to continue investing in intelligence gathering, rapid emergency response and community-based security initiatives to curb kidnapping and other security threats.
The donation has attracted commendation from residents and stakeholders, with many describing it as a thoughtful gesture that recognises the principal’s dedication and the emotional challenges faced by the victims.
The rescue of the Oriire school abductees has remained one of the most celebrated security successes in recent months, with renewed calls for stronger measures to safeguard educational institutions across Nigeria.
