Ogun Police Parade Six Suspected Armed Robbers Operating In Military Camouflage


The Ogun state police command on Wednesday paraded six suspected armed robbers operating in military camouflage along the Sagamu-Benin expressway.
Also paraded includes two herdsmen who attacked a family in Afowowa village while grazing their cattle.
The two suspects were also accused of dispossessing the family of sum of N140,000.
It was gathered that the hoodlums After robbing the family raped a 16-Year old daughter.
While Parading the suspects at the State Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, the Commissioner of Police CP Edward A. Ajogun submitted that the state command has intensified its crime fighting strategies as well as quick response to distress call so as not to give criminals any breathing space across the length and breadth of the gateway state.
He said ”This is a strong signal to all would be criminals that Ogun state is not going to be comfortable for them. We are more determined and resolute than ever before to give hoodlums, miscreants and those who are not ready to tow the line of peace a run for their money”
“The law abiding citizens of the state should be rest assured that their security is guaranteed all the time and they should always trust and have confidence in the ability of the command to attend to their security needs at all times”. He added
Vincent Magnus, Elias John, Ikechukwu Alore, Ifeanyi Emmanuel, Chibueze Kingsley and Chigozie Micheal were among the suspects arrested on the 4th of September, 2020 at about 2:30am.
The CP maintained that the command received a distress call that a gang of armed robbers who dressed in military camouflage uniform have blocked the Sagamu-Benin expressway at Ijebu-Ife, forcefully dispossessing motorist and commuters of their valuables.
He noted that on the strength of the distress call, a team of Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) was detailed to join force with the patrol team of Ijebu-ife division and confront the dare devil men.
According to Ajogun, the hoodlums when sighting the policemen engaged them in a gun battle which lasted for about 30 minutes, at the end of which one of the hoodlums was shot dead while others escaped with gun-shot injuries.
Exhibits recovered from them include, 3 complete pairs of military camouflage, one military vest, one military nose mask, one army head-warmer, one military camouflage bag and 3 mock guns fabricated with black cello-tape.
Also paraded were Abubakar Adamu and Muhamadu Aliyu, two suspected herdmen who attacked a family in Ewekoro. They were also accused of raping the 16year old daughter of the family in a nearby bush
Recovered from the duo includes, two long sticks and one jack knife.
