Obi, Atiku Yet to Demonstrate Capacity to Lead Nigeria, Says APC Chieftain Alawuje
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, has said that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi have not demonstrated the leadership capacity required to govern Nigeria.
Alawuje made the remarks while reacting to the growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that neither Atiku nor Obi has presented a convincing alternative capable of inspiring Nigerians or challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
According to him, effective leadership goes beyond political popularity and campaign rhetoric, requiring a proven record of competence, strategic vision, and the ability to unite a diverse nation.
The APC stalwart argued that President Tinubu has continued to implement difficult but necessary reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy despite prevailing challenges. He maintained that the current administration has shown commitment to long-term national development.
Alawuje further contended that the opposition figures have yet to clearly outline practical solutions to the country’s economic and security challenges, adding that Nigerians deserve leaders with demonstrated experience in governance rather than political promises.
He urged citizens to critically assess the track records of all political aspirants ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that leadership should be based on competence, credibility, and performance.
The APC chieftain also expressed confidence that President Tinubu would continue to enjoy widespread support across the country as preparations for the next general election gather momentum.
