Mukaila Oluokun ‘De Stone’ Dies, Ibadan Mourns Hasbol Hotel CEO
The Ibadan business and social community has been thrown into mourning following the death of Mukaila Oluokun, popularly known as “De Stone,” the Chief Executive Officer of Hasbol Hotel, who was widely regarded as an industrious businessman, employer of labour and generous supporter of young people.
Oluokun, who was married and survived by his wife and children, built a reputation beyond the hospitality industry. Friends and associates described him as a man of the people with a large heart, whose commitment to creating jobs helped many young men and women find productive livelihoods.
De Stone Remembered as Employer of Labour and Youth Supporter
For many who encountered him, Mukaila Oluokun De Stone represented more than business success. He believed strongly in hard work and encouraged young people to embrace legitimate means of earning a living.
Through his business interests, particularly Hasbol Hotel, he reportedly created employment opportunities for many people, helping to take young men and women off the streets and giving them opportunities to build better lives.
Those close to him also remembered him as a caring father, generous personality and dependable friend who was always willing to assist people around him.
How Mukaila Oluokun ‘De Stone’ Died
According to information from people close to the deceased, Oluokun suffered a sudden health emergency and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors reportedly battled to save his life after his blood pressure was found to be dangerously high.
Despite the medical attention he received, the Hasbol Hotel CEO later passed away, leaving his family, friends, employees and associates devastated.
Kolawole Olurin Mourns De Stone
Reacting to his death, Asiwaju Kolawole Olurin, a close friend of Oluokun, described the development as a rude shock and a major loss to Ibadan.
Olurin described the late businessman as a dependable and wonderful friend whom he regarded as “a brother from another mother.”
According to him, Oluokun’s death has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill because of his relationship with people and the number of lives he touched through friendship, employment and generosity.
Hundreds Pay Condolence Visits
Since news of the death of Mukaila Oluokun ‘De Stone’ became public, hundreds of sympathisers, business associates, friends and beneficiaries of his generosity have reportedly continued to visit his residence from within and outside Ibadan to sympathise with his family and sign the condolence register.
The large turnout has further reflected the deceased’s connection with people from different backgrounds and the impact he made during his lifetime.
As Ibadan mourns, De Stone will be remembered not only as the CEO of Hasbol Hotel, but also as an industrious entrepreneur, employer of labour, caring father, dependable friend and compassionate man who believed that success should create opportunities for others.
