Many trapped as seven storey building in Lagos

 

Again, there was seven storey building  still under construction suddenly caved in,and collapsed on Wednesday in Lagos.

According to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA),the incident was confirmed in a statement, said that the unfortunate incident occured at First avenue, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos at about 6:13PM on 12/04/2023.

“A report of 7 Storey building under construction just received at Banana Island. Workers trapped. We are mobilising to respond,” the statements read.

Furthermore, the Situation Report on the collapsed building which occurred at 1st Avenue, Banana Island, Ikoyi was sent to press by PS LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu.

It states, “Agency activated its response plan and upon arrival at the scene of the incident, discovered that a seven storey building under construction had collapsed.

“Inspection revealed that the building was damaged by a cement mixer truck, which drove into the building columns
A head count carried out by the CSO Anthony Onah of the construction site has an adult male unaccounted for. His where about is unknown.

“Operation ongoing,Agency’s excavator, forklift are on site while crane is enroute,and updates to follow, he added.
