Kwankwaso Welcomes APC Defectors to NDC, Promises Party Positions
Former Kano State Governor and national political leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has welcomed a new wave of defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the National Democratic Congress (NDC), assuring them of equal opportunities and active participation in the party’s affairs.
Speaking during the reception of the new members, Kwankwaso described their decision to join the NDC as a demonstration of confidence in the party’s vision and commitment to democratic governance. He pledged that the defectors would be fully integrated into the party without discrimination or preferential treatment.
The former presidential candidate said the NDC remains committed to building a broad-based political platform that accommodates Nigerians from diverse political, ethnic and religious backgrounds. He stressed that the party would continue to strengthen its structures nationwide as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
Kwankwaso assured the new members that the party would recognise competence, loyalty and dedication in assigning responsibilities, adding that qualified members would be given opportunities to contribute to the growth of the party and national development.
He urged the defectors to remain committed to the ideals of unity, accountability and people-centred leadership, noting that collective effort and discipline would be critical to achieving the party’s political objectives.
The latest defections are expected to boost the NDC’s grassroots presence and organisational strength as political parties continue consultations, alliances and membership drives ahead of the next electoral cycle.
