June 12 : Tola Banjo greets Nigerians, stressed the need to deepen democratic gains


A former Deputy Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Tola Banjo has joined the government and good of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Nigerians both at home and diaspora to commemorate the year 2022 June 12 and democracy day celebration, a day with symbolic events that shaped the existence of democratic settings in the Nation’s history.
In a congratulatory message to all Nigerians released through his Media Office, Hon. Tola Banjo acknowledged that Nigeria’s democracy has witnessed tremendous growth over the years, although not without challenges just like every other countries of the world, hence the reason to celebrate the gains that comes with it so far and the need to chart new ways for further growth and sustainable development.
“As with all democracies we will always be going through improvement processes in our desire to reach the goal of a mature democracy, a strong, evolved and integrated nation-state to be reckoned with globally.
As a nation, it is imperative for us to continue to strive for improvements in our electoral processes. There is a need to deepen the gains so far attained by advancing the frontiers of credible electoral processes, fidelity to the rule of law and adherence to constitutionalism.
I want to once again congratulate us all in the spirit of celebration, we should eschew all dividing factors but embrace dialogue in all conflicts arising as laid down by our founding fathers”. he said.
