Ganduje Says APC Better Positioned for 2027, Questions Obi and Kwankwaso’s Electoral Chances
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has expressed confidence in his party’s chances ahead of the 2027 general elections, arguing that opposition figures Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso lack the political record and nationwide structure needed to unseat the ruling party.
Speaking at a political gathering, Ganduje maintained that the APC remains the most formidable political platform in the country, citing its national spread, governance experience and grassroots support. He contended that the opposition has yet to demonstrate the level of political strength required to mount a successful challenge in the next presidential election.
The APC chairman argued that electoral success depends on more than popularity, emphasizing the importance of established political structures, party cohesion and a track record of governance. According to him, the ruling party is focused on consolidating its achievements while expanding its support base across the country ahead of the 2027 polls.
Ganduje also expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration would continue implementing policies aimed at strengthening the economy, improving infrastructure and addressing security challenges, adding that the government’s performance would enhance the APC’s electoral prospects.
His remarks have added to the growing political debate as parties begin positioning themselves for the 2027 elections. Opposition parties have consistently maintained that they are building broad-based alliances and presenting alternative policy agendas to attract Nigerian voters.
Political analysts believe the coming months will witness increased political engagements, coalition discussions and policy debates as parties intensify preparations for what is expected to be a highly competitive election cycle.
