UNIZIK Denies Lecturer’s Involvement in Viral Sex Scandal Video
The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has dismissed claims linking one of its lecturers to a viral video circulating on social media, describing the allegations as false, misleading and capable of damaging the institution’s reputation.
In a statement issued by the university management, UNIZIK clarified that the individual featured in the widely circulated video is not a lecturer or staff member of the institution.
The university expressed concern over the spread of misinformation on social media, urging members of the public to disregard reports alleging that one of its lecturers was involved in the incident.
According to the management, preliminary findings showed that the claims were unfounded, stressing that no member of its academic staff was connected to the video.
UNIZIK warned against the deliberate circulation of false information capable of tarnishing the image of the university and innocent individuals, noting that such actions could attract legal consequences.
The institution reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high ethical and professional standards among its staff and students while encouraging the public to verify information through official channels before sharing sensitive content online.
University authorities also appealed to social media users and media organisations to exercise caution and responsibility in reporting unverified claims that could mislead the public.
The management reiterated that it remains committed to protecting the integrity of the institution and ensuring that false narratives are promptly corrected.
