Adamawa Power Supply Recovery Begins After Jambutu 33kV Tower Collapse
Efforts to restore electricity supply to affected communities in Adamawa State are progressing following the collapse of the Jambutu 33kV feeder tower, which disrupted power distribution across several areas served by the network.
The incident, reportedly caused by severe weather conditions, damaged critical power infrastructure and left many residents and businesses without electricity. The collapse affected electricity distribution across parts of Yola and surrounding communities, prompting an immediate response from technical teams.
Electricity distribution officials disclosed that emergency response teams were swiftly deployed to assess the extent of the damage and commence reconstruction work. Engineers have since been working to rebuild the damaged tower and reconnect affected feeder lines to the national grid.
Although power supply has been partially restored to some areas, several communities continue to experience outages due to the extensive nature of the damage. Repair crews remain on site carrying out reconstruction and maintenance work aimed at ensuring the safe and complete restoration of electricity services.
The utility company expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the disruption and appealed to customers for patience as restoration efforts continue. It also reiterated the need to safeguard power infrastructure from vandalism and other activities that could compromise efficient electricity distribution.
Residents have been assured that updates will be provided as work progresses, with authorities expressing optimism that normal power supply will be fully restored as soon as repairs are completed.
