Umahi Praises Tinubu for Addressing Long-Standing Marginalization of South-East
Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken decisive steps to end what he described as decades of marginalization
of the South-East region.
Umahi made the remark while speaking on the growing number of federal infrastructure projects being executed in the region. According to him, the current administration has shown genuine commitment to fairness, national unity and balanced development by ensuring that the South-East receives significant attention in road construction and other critical government programmes.
The minister noted that several major federal road projects are currently ongoing across the region, aimed at improving connectivity, boosting economic activities and addressing long-standing infrastructure deficits. He stressed that these efforts demonstrate the President’s determination to integrate every part of the country into the national development agenda.
Umahi also pointed to the level of federal representation given to the region as a sign of inclusion, saying the administration has created opportunities for greater participation of South-East leaders in governance.
He therefore urged political leaders, stakeholders and residents of the region to support the federal government’s initiatives, adding that cooperation and unity would help consolidate the developmental progress already being recorded.
