Osun APC Moves to Heal Internal Divisions Ahead of 2026 Governorship Election

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State have stepped up efforts to resolve internal disagreements as preparations intensify for the 2026 governorship election.
The reconciliation meeting, held in Osogbo, brought together key party stakeholders, including senior officials, former lawmakers, and influential leaders, with the aim of engaging aspirants and members who felt aggrieved following the party’s internal selection processes.
During the meeting, participants stressed the importance of unity, inclusiveness, and dialogue, noting that unresolved disputes could weaken the party’s chances in the upcoming election. Leaders agreed that bringing all factions on board is critical to building a strong and competitive party structure.
It was also resolved that a reconciliation and engagement committee would be constituted to interface with aggrieved aspirants, party elders, and grassroots members across the state. The committee is expected to address concerns, foster understanding, and promote collective ownership of the party’s goals.
Party leaders described the initiative as a proactive step to consolidate internal cohesion and position the APC for success in the 2026 polls. They expressed confidence that with sustained engagement and cooperation, the party would emerge stronger and more united.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by all stakeholders to work together in the interest of the party and the people of Osun State.
