Founder of the Olamide Davies Foundation, Hon. Olamide Davies, has joined Nigerians in mourning the passing of the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, describing his death as a monumental loss to Ogun State and the nation at large.
In a condolence statement issued on Monday, Davies extended her heartfelt sympathies to the royal family, the people of Ijebuland, and the Ogun State Government under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
She described Oba Adetona as a monarch of uncommon vision and grace whose reign for over six decades brought unprecedented peace, unity, and cultural renaissance to Ijebuland. According to Davies, the late Awujale was not just a revered traditional ruler but a statesman whose wisdom and counsel transcended local boundaries.
“The passing of Oba Dr. Sikiru Adetona is deeply painful and truly irreplaceable. He was a towering symbol of truth, justice, and cultural dignity. His voice resonated on national issues, and he never shied away from standing for what was right,” she said.
Davies further praised the monarch’s enduring leadership, noting that his reign was marked by courage, compassion, and an unshakable commitment to the welfare of his people.
As prayers pour in for the peaceful repose of Oba Adetona’s soul, Davies urged the people of Ijebuland and all Yoruba sons and daughters to remain united and draw strength from the exemplary life and legacy he leaves behind.
“May his memory continue to inspire present and future generations,” she added.
