2027: Senator Adeola Accuses Ogun Opposition of Targeting State Treasury
Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) has accused opposition political parties in Ogun State of being more interested in gaining access to the state’s treasury than delivering meaningful governance, as preparations intensify for the 2027 governorship election.
Addressing party supporters and stakeholders, the senator said the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains committed to sustaining the developmental strides recorded in Ogun State, insisting that politics should be driven by service, accountability and the welfare of the people rather than personal enrichment.
Adeola argued that the opposition has failed to present a convincing alternative agenda for the state, alleging that its focus is centred on taking control of public resources instead of offering practical solutions to challenges affecting residents.
The senator urged Ogun voters to remain vigilant and support leaders with a proven record of performance, integrity and commitment to sustainable development. He maintained that leadership should be measured by tangible achievements and a clear vision for economic growth, infrastructure, education, healthcare and job creation.
Reaffirming his confidence in the APC, Adeola said the ruling party would continue to consolidate on existing projects while introducing new initiatives aimed at improving the standard of living across the state.
He also called on party members to remain united ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that cohesion and grassroots mobilisation would be critical to the APC’s electoral success.
According to the senator, Ogun State deserves leaders who will protect public resources, promote transparency and place the interests of the people above personal or political ambitions.
His remarks come as political activities continue to gather momentum, with parties positioning themselves for what is expected to be a keenly contested governorship election in 2027.
