2023 : Okowa betrayed his kinsmen -Omo-Agege

Ovie Omo-Agege, the Deputy Senate President, has accused Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of betraying Southern Nigeria by accepting the position of running mate to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Omo-Agege believes a southerner should succeed Katsina-born President Muhammadu Buhari when his eight-year term ends in May.
He spoke on Saturday in Warri at the launch of the APC governorship campaign in Delta.
Omo-Agege, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Delta, described Okowa’s ambition to be Nigeria’s Vice-President in May 2023 as a “ill-fated adventure.”
Omo-Agege called the two-term Delta State governor a “replica of Judas Iscariot today” who “should step down immediately from Atiku Abubakar’s ticket.”
APC heavyweights such as the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and his wife, Oluremi; Senate President Ahmad Lawan; and former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, among others, attended the campaign.
In Delta’s 2023 governorship election, Omo-Agege will face PDP governorship candidate Sheriff Oborevwori and other challengers.
