2023 Election: Tinubu/ Shittima Maritme Group plans Rally to Solicit Support for Election
To fully align the Nigeria Maritme sub- sector and it’s various stakeholders in the scheme of things at the highest political office in Nigeria come 2023 , a Maritme campaign group, Tinubu/ Shittima Maritme Advocacy Group (TSMAG) is planning an enlightenment rally around the ports environment and beyond to drum supports for the Tinubu Shittima presidential ticket come 2023.
This decision and other activities were taken at a meeting by the group on Friday in Apapa, Lagos State.
According to the Chairman of TSMAG, Alhaji Aliyu Lameen, the rally will be the mother of all rallies to drum supports of Maritme stakeholders for the Tinubu/Shittima Presidency, which according to him will bring prosperity to stakeholders in the maritme Industry.
Lameen who is a chieftain and the National Coordinator, Compliance team of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) also narrates the success stories of the initial flag- off of the APC campaign rally in Jos, Plateau State, saying even the one in Lagos and the Crowd Funding campaign and other events which members of TSMAG attended were all successful.
On the aims and objectives of TSMAG, he said that the group has already gotten the attention of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidential Candidate of the APC and he has directed his Coordinator on Ports and Maritme activities to liaise with the group to get first hand information on the sector for his program. To this end, the group is seeking the contributions of all the associations and agencies in the maritme sector to submit what they expected the new government to address in the sector in the new dispensation.
Lameen said, ” TSMAG platform is meant to drive the voice of core professionals not heard over the years in Nigeria political discuss , especially in the maritme Industry.
” As critical stakeholders that drive not just the economic gateways of the nation by revenue generation, we have core competence of professionals on securing of National assets , both on Blue Economy and Maritme critical infrastructure and nation gross earnings on International trade. Sitting on the fence is no more an option, we are known for hardwork that keeps the nation moving.
” Therefore, Tinubu/Shittima Maritme Advocacy Group (TSMAG) is ready and willing to forge an alliance of Maritme sectoral stakeholders for the success deliverables of the Tinubu/Shittima presidency, come 2023 election , with spelt out rewards for the maritme sub-sector.”
The statement also said TSMAG is still growing at the grassroots and at the Executive levels which membership is made up of Custom brokers, Freight forwarders, Maritme lawyers, Maritme Journalists, Arbitrators, Shipowners, Barge operators, ship Chandllers , Dockworkers, Transpoters among other professionals in the maritme Industry.
The group which said it will soon hold a world press conference to intimate the media on its activities and programs call on all stakeholders not to sit on the fence, but to join TSMAG so the Industry will have a voice come 2023.
Already Maritme Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), COMTUA , Maritme Journalists, Maritme Lawyers among other professionals are already in the TSMAG team and many other individuals and organisations are expected to join.
