BREAKING: Wike-Aligned PDP NEC Expels Governors Makinde, Bala Mohammed, Dauda Lawal, and Elder Statesman Bode George
In a major shake-up within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the National Executive Committee (NEC), reportedly dominated by the Wike-aligned faction, has announced the expulsion of several high-profile members, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, and party elder Chief Bode George.
Also affected are top party figures such as former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara; former Minister of Special Duties, Senator Kabiru Tanimu Turaki; and the Deputy National Chairman (South), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, among others. They were removed on allegations of anti-party activities.
In addition to the expulsions, the NEC ratified the dissolution of the PDP State Executive Committees in Bauchi, Oyo, Zamfara, Yobe, Lagos, Edo, and Ekiti States, marking one of the most sweeping internal restructuring moves in the party’s recent history.
The decisions were reached at the party’s 103rd NEC meeting held on Tuesday at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja.
Presenting the memo that triggered the expulsions, Acting National Chairman Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman stated that the affected members consistently disregarded court judgments and their actions brought the party into disrepute. He insisted that the NEC’s decisions were aimed at restoring discipline and strengthening the party’s internal cohesion.
