Osun 2026: APC Chieftain Says Adeleke Seeks Second Term for Personal Gain
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of seeking re-election for personal interests rather than the development of the state.
The APC stalwart alleged that Governor Adeleke’s bid for a second term is aimed at continuing what he described as financial mismanagement of the state’s resources, insisting that Osun residents deserve a government that prioritises transparency, accountability and sustainable development.
According to the party leader, the forthcoming governorship election presents an opportunity for voters to assess the performance of the current administration and elect leaders capable of delivering improved governance and economic growth.
He further criticised the Adeleke administration over its handling of key sectors, arguing that the state requires policies that will stimulate investment, create employment opportunities and improve infrastructure across all local government areas.
The APC chieftain also expressed confidence that the opposition would present a credible alternative capable of restoring public confidence and accelerating the state’s development.
The comments add to the growing political exchanges ahead of the Osun governorship election, with both the ruling Accord Party and opposition parties intensifying campaigns across the state. Governor Adeleke has repeatedly defended his administration’s record, maintaining that his achievements justify his bid for another term in office.
Political observers expect the contest to remain highly competitive as parties continue to canvass support from voters in the build-up to the election.
