Open Letter to Senator Shuaib Salisu, Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District on the State of Olokuta/Laderin Road by Kehinde Odewunmi

To Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, Lawmaker representing Ogun Central Senatorial District in the 10th Assembly, amidst the rancorous disputation of your electoral triumph that led to your emergence as the Senator representing the senatorial district, I am constrained to write and bring to Your attention issues that have continued to be of paramount importance in entrenching transparent representation for the overall good of our dear Senatorial District.

The reason for this letter centred mainly on the state Olokuta road linking to the Wole Soyinka Train Station at Laderin, a community between the hubs of Abeokuta South and Obafemi Owode Local Government Areas which falls within the purpose of your Distinguished Representation from the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.

Distinguish Senator, it is important to bring to your notice the deplorable State of the aforementioned road, the deplorable state of the road has affected every facet of lives in terms of business, social life and general standard of living in the area, hence the need for urgent Federal Government intervention through your office just like your colleague, the Senator representing Ogun East senatorial District, Senator Gbenga Daniel had done facilitating Ecological team to his area to look into issues of flooding as it affects his people recently, a move that was applauded by people beyond Ogun East and solidify his reputation as a responsible and responsive Public Servant.

Aside the hardship being faced by motorists, the poor road conditions could potentially impact an electricity high tension power line that passes through the area, and could pose risks to lives and properties, hence your quick intervention Sir.

On behalf of the people of the area, I called on you to rise up to your responsibilities by leveraging on your office and closeness to the seat of power at the center to facilitate federal government intervention to the Olokuta to Wole Soyinka Train Station road as the road requires total rehabilitation because it has cut off completely thereby putting untold hardship on the people as well as facilitate other developmental projects to the six LGAs that makes up of Senatorial District as expected of you because four years is just a mile away.

No one can earn public confidence or trust just like that, especially in the Nigerian experience; it is gotten through hardwork, consistency and sincerity.

Despite our difference in political platform and ideologies, I followed your campaign manifestos with keen interest  prior to the elections, and I want you to know that we would hold you by your words, the people would certainly remind you of every statement you have made about bringing succour to them.

If it is positive they may be quiet but if it is negative they would do that for free with so much energy.

Wish you best of luck as you continue your Legislative Duties
