APC Group Opposes Gov Bala’s Alleged Defection Plan, Petitions Nentawe
A faction within the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised concerns over alleged plans by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urging party leaders to resist any move that could alter political alignments ahead of future elections.
The group formally submitted a petition to APC chieftain Nentawe Yilwatda, expressing strong opposition to what they described as behind-the-scenes efforts to accommodate the governor within the party.
They argued that such a move, if allowed, could create internal instability and undermine the interests of loyal party members who have remained committed to the APC structure in the state and region.
The petitioners maintained that the APC should not be used as a safe landing space for politicians facing political pressure in their current parties, warning that it could weaken internal cohesion and trust among members.
They further urged party leadership to maintain discipline and protect the integrity of the party’s structure as it prepares for future electoral contests.
The development highlights ongoing political tension and realignment speculations within Bauchi State’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
