Super Falcons Arrive in Casablanca to Begin WAFCON 2026 Title Defence Preparations
Nigeria’s Super Falcons have commenced preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with players arriving at the team’s training camp in Casablanca, Morocco, ahead of their title defence.
The nine-time African champions began assembling on Monday as the coaching crew, led by head coach Justin Madugu, welcomed the early arrivals to camp. More members of the 25-player squad are expected to join the team in the coming days as preparations gather momentum for the continental tournament.
The Super Falcons are aiming to retain their continental crown and extend their remarkable dominance in African women’s football. The team’s technical crew is expected to use the training camp to fine-tune tactics, assess players’ fitness and build cohesion before the competition kicks off later this month in Morocco.
Nigeria has been drawn in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt and debutants Malawi. The Falcons will open their WAFCON campaign against Malawi before taking on Zambia and Egypt in the remaining group-stage fixtures.
With several experienced stars and promising young talents included in the squad, expectations remain high for the Super Falcons as they chase another continental title and a place at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
