The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, has reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the safety of Chinese nationals and the protection of investments across the state during a high-level diplomatic visit to the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
CP Ojajuni, alongside members of the Command’s management team, received a delegation from the Chinese Consulate led by Deputy Consular General Mr. Wang Yue, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance security cooperation between both parties.
The visit focused on deepening collaboration in areas of security, investment protection, and diplomatic engagement, particularly in relation to Chinese-owned businesses operating within Ogun State’s industrial and economic hubs.
Speaking during the meeting, CP Ojajuni emphasized the long-standing relationship between Nigeria and China, noting that both nations have enjoyed over five decades of diplomatic ties built on trade, investment, and developmental cooperation.
He also referenced his experience as former Commissioner of Police at INTERPOL Annex, Lagos (National Central Bureau), stating that his background in international policing continues to strengthen his commitment to global security collaboration and transnational crime prevention.
The police chief assured the delegation that the Ogun State Police Command remains fully committed to safeguarding foreign investors, especially Chinese nationals, through intelligence-led policing, enhanced surveillance, and proactive crime prevention strategies.
He added that strategic security coverage would continue across industrial areas, business corridors, and key infrastructure locations to ensure a safe and stable environment for economic activities in the state.
In a show of support for operational efficiency, the Chinese Consulate donated communication equipment, including walkie-talkies, to the Ogun State Police Command to enhance emergency response and coordination.
Mr. Wang Yue commended the professionalism of the Ogun State Police Command, praising its consistent efforts in maintaining peace and security, particularly in areas hosting Chinese investments. He also reaffirmed the Consulate’s readiness to continue strengthening cooperation with Nigerian security agencies.
The delegation further presented a congratulatory letter to CP Ojajuni, commending his appointment and expressing confidence in his leadership, professionalism, and experience in law enforcement and international security relations.
The visit highlighted the growing diplomatic and economic partnership between Nigeria and China, while reinforcing the importance of sustained security collaboration in promoting investor confidence and economic development in Ogun State.
