The Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture on Thursday appointed Alhaji AbdulWasiu Olaleye as the new president of the Union at the MKO Abiola Trade Fair Complex, Oke Mosan Abeokuta
Olaleye will be the 18th President of the chamber.
In his acceptance speech, he said that since inception, OGUNCCIMA has been fortunate to be under the leadership of exceptional leaders who have distinguished themselves and made good impact towards the progress of the noble association.
“I will like to commend the relentless effort of our Immediate Past President, Adele-Oba Kolawole Lawal and other officers who directed the affairs of the Chamber in the last two years”
“There is no doubt that his tenure has also raised the bar of the Chamber’s progress. With the grace and benevolence of Almighty God, I have succeeded Adele-Oba Kolawole Lawal as the new President of Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, the position that would be held for the next two years”
“By the grace of God and the assured support of other officers and members of the Chamber, we shall do our utmost best to make the new dispensation as productive and eventful as that of my predecessors”
“Furthermore, in a bid to commit ourselves to the goals the new administration has envisioned, our focus will be to continue to look inward in order to harness our local resources and encourage the growth of their value chains both locally and on the global scale”
In his keynote address, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, ably represented by the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs Kikelomo Longe said that the Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture has remained an exceptional organization towards improving business activities within the related sectors of economy in the state.
He further stated that with over three thousand corporate members across the state, accounting on estimated 60% industrial output and 65% of general commence and about 25% of financial services in the state in particular and Nigeria as a whole.
