Obaseki Ignores Supporters, Vows To Contest On The Platform Of APC
The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has vowed that he would seek re-election into his office on the platform of the APC.
He said this while addressing members of the Obaseki Mandate Group, FCT.
Obaseki added that even though most of his supporters have told him that they would pay for his nomination form in whichever party he decides to switch to, he has deemed it fit that he would be seeking his re-election under the same political party that brought him into government.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Working Committee, NWC, has said it lacked the powers to endorse any aspirant, ahead of the primary elections in Edo and Ondo States.
APC NWC was reacting to the alleged endorsement of the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu by its National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and a group known as the Unity Mandate Agenda.
A statement by APC’s spokesperson, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, described the alleged endorsements as false.
