A Man and Woman engaged in a fight over the authenticity of the recently redesigned new Naira Note.
The Nigeria Standard Correspondent who witnessed the ugly scenario reported that crisis occur when after the man finished his food and wanted to pay the food vendor with the denomination of the new 1000 naira Note which the Woman claimed was fake and demanded that the Man give her the real currency.
Efforts of passersby to prevail on the issue and explain to her on the redesigned notes proved abortive.
The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN recently released the redesigned new Naira Notes in the denomination of 200, 500 and 1000 notes to checkmate the activities of currency counterfeiters and ensure that old Naira notes hoarded returns back to the bank volts with improved security features including it colours.
