

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reported a remarkable revenue generation of over N347 billion from the Tin-Can Island port in Lagos during the first quarter of 2025.
Area Comptroller Frank Onyeka shared the figures, revealing a significant improvement in collections compared to the previous year. In January 2025, the command generated N116.41 billion, marking a 24.06% increase from the N88.43 billion collected in January 2024. February saw a slight increase of 2.90%, with N103.25 billion generated, surpassing February 2024’s N100.25 billion. The momentum continued in March 2025, with N128.27 billion collected, a 10.3% increase over March 2024’s N115.1 billion.
The total revenue for the first quarter of 2025 stood at N347.94 billion, reflecting a 12.6% growth from N304 billion in the same period last year.
Comptroller Onyeka urged importers and stakeholders to ensure honest declarations, promoting a seamless and transparent operational environment. He also expressed gratitude for the support of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, and thanked the media for their positive coverage.
