Kayode Fayemi Commends Smooth Voting Process in Ekiti Election
Former Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has praised the peaceful and orderly conduct of the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election, describing the voting process as seamless and well-coordinated.
Fayemi, who cast his vote at Ward 11, Unit 9 in Isan-Ekiti, commended officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a smooth accreditation and voting exercise across polling units. He noted that the electoral process reflected significant improvements in election management and logistics.
According to the former governor, the accreditation process was fast and efficient, allowing voters to exercise their civic rights without unnecessary delays. He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of election officials and the overall atmosphere at his polling unit.
Fayemi also addressed concerns surrounding an incident that reportedly occurred in his community on the eve of the election. He clarified that the altercation was a private matter between individuals and had no connection with politics or the governorship poll.
Describing Isan-Ekiti as a peaceful community, Fayemi urged residents to remain calm and continue to uphold peace throughout the electoral process. He revealed that security authorities had assured stakeholders that a thorough investigation would be conducted to ensure accountability for those involved in the incident.
