A coordinator of All Progressive Congress Youth wing, Ogun State chapter, comrade Aroboto Rasheed has called on president Muhammadu Buhari to listen to Nigerian youths over scrapping of Special Anti- Robbery Squad, SARS across the country.
He also urged Buhari to reform the police and assure the youth of their safety.
Aroboto disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Nigeria standard news online in Abeokuta on Tuesday.
The youth leader maintained that Nigerian youths have the right to protest as far as it is a peaceful one, adding that police brutality is a major issue of public discourse.
He said ”We youths are the leaders of tomorrow and we know our rights. Some are dead, some are injured while some are in the cell, all because of searching for yahoo boys. Sars are not EFCC, so why should they engage themselves in such?
”They even collect money from those guys whether they are guilty or not… They killed some along the line which should not be. We can’t put an end to police, but there should be a reform.
Aroboto added that he is fully in support of a peaceful protest not killing or hurting anyone.
He therefore advised the victims family to be compensated and justice should prevail.
