EndSARS protest: Olugbon condemns attack on Soun of Ogbomosho palace
The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Alao has expressed displeasure over the recent attack by youths of the Ogbomosho community on the palace of the Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Jimoh Oyewunmi.
Olugbon described the attack as an abberation in the Yoruba culture.
It would be recalled that the youths of Ogbomosho had on Saturday invaded the paalce of Soyun of Ogbomosho and destroyed properties worth millions following the death of one of the protesters against the Special Anti-Robbery Squads.
But Olugnon however in a statement by his media aide, Akin Alade which was made available to newsmen on Tuesday condemned the attack
Oba Alao noted that the youths disrespected the throne by attacking the royal place which was traditionally backed up.
He stressed that there are other ways the youth should have used in communicating their grievances.
He added, “I learnt the youths claimed to be angry because of the death of their colleague, but destroying royal Palace is an insult to the Yoruba tradition.
” The youths need to apologise to the royak father because what they did is an abberation in the Yoruba culture.”
