Elumelu distributes food items, tasks Nigerians on togetherness
ASABA – The founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Mr. Tony Elumelu, has advised Nigerian leaders and other well-meaning Nigerians to root for the betterment and brighter future of people in the society.
Elumelu gave the advice while distributing over 1,800 premium quality CSS Parboiled 25kg Rice to his people in Onicha- Uku Kingdom, Aniocha North local government area of Delta State.
According to him, the initiative reflects the unshakeable belief that when one lifts others “we rise together.”
He advised Nigerians to embrace the spirit of giving, not just during Christmas but in our everyday lives; saying giving back, no matter how small, makes the world a better place.
The bags of rice came in two batches and were shared among the traditional ruler, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), community quarters, local vigilantes, and others.
Represented by Mr. Ramon Nasir, he said the “distribution of rice is a simple but profound gesture of love by way of ensuring that families in this community enjoy the festive season with dignity and happiness.”
Describing the gifts as a remarkable gesture of giving back to the people, the economist, and philanthropist, declared “We gather to celebrate the spirit of Christmas—a season of love, kindness, and generosity.
“This event is a testament to my deep commitment to my roots with a vision for a better and brighter future for them, and as we receive these gifts today, let us also commit to being a blessing to others in whatever way we can.”
Responding, HRH, Raphael Okonkwo Agbamueche 11, Obi of Onicha-Uku, applauded Elumelu as “a son of the soil, for his steadfastness in empowering communities and changing people’s lives right here in his hometown.”
