The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, has denied reports suggesting a rift between him and former national chairman of the party, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, describing such claims as false and misleading.
Speaking to journalists in Benin City, Tenebe said there is no division within the leadership of the APC in Edo State, stressing that the party remains united and focused on strengthening its structures ahead of future political engagements.
According to him, any perceived disagreement between party leaders occurred during the governorship primary election process and was resolved long before the election, with all stakeholders working together to ensure victory at the polls.
Tenebe explained that while Senator Oshiomhole remains a respected national figure within the APC, Governor Monday Okpebholo is the recognised leader of the party in Edo State, adding that their roles are clearly defined and complementary.
He also dismissed insinuations that his relationship with Oshiomhole could affect his position as state chairman, describing such speculations as baseless and driven by political mischief-makers.
The APC chairman assured party members and supporters that the Edo chapter of the party is stable, united, and committed to supporting the state government and advancing the party’s agenda at both state and national levels.
