Hon. Tajudeen Abass has been elected the Speaker of the 10th house of representatives of the federal republic of Nigeria.
Abass got the highest number of votes to defeat other two contenders to the speakership position of the house of representatives.
Tajudeen Abass polled a total of 353 votes, while Idris Wase and Yusuf Gagdi polled 3 votes each.

Nigeria Standard reports that the 360 house of representatives Members-elect adopted the open ballot system voting process to elect the speaker, as Members took turns to openly cast their votes for their preferred candidate.
