Breaking: Emefiele’s Arraignment Stalled Again

The arraignment of the embattled suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele and another employee of the apex bank, Saadatu Yaro, has again been stalled for a second time.
Justice Hamza Muazu of the FCT High Court had on August 12, adjourned the alleged N6.9bn Procurement case against Emefiele till today, Wednesday, August 23, 2023, following the unavailability of Saadatu Yaro.
However, the case was also not listed on the cause list of the court today.
The absence of both the prosecution and the defendants at today’s hearing, may not be unconnected to the reports making the rounds that Emefiele is trying to enter into a plea bargaining with the federal government.
